I'm not too big on poetry in general, though I do enjoy playing with freeform poetry now and then. But many years ago, I discovered this poem from one of my favorite classic authors, Robert Louis Stevenson, and I was captivated.
I immediately set about committing the few verses with powerful amounts of depth to memory. And I have never forgotten them. They beautifully sum up what I hope my life looks like.
Do you have a favorite poem, friends?? I'd love to hear it after you read this one.
'The stars shine over the earth,
the stars shine over the sea;
the stars look up to the Mighty God,
the stars look down on me.
The stars will live for a million years,
for a million years and a day!
But Christ and I will live and love
when the stars have passed away.'
--Robert Louis Stevenson
