Just to keep us in perspective...

Sometimes we start to think we're kind of a 'big deal', and pride begins to creep in.

So let's take a minute to put ourselves in perspective, to remember how helpless we really are.  And how great our Creator is.

Some amazing 'did you know's of the vast universe our Savior made without lifting a finger:

—As you look at pictures of comets, you will notice they have vapor trails. These vapor trails can be as long as 10,000 miles, and yet if you would collect the vapor and put it in a bottle, the amount in the bottle will take up less than one cubic inch of space.

—The star Antares is 60,000 times larger than our sun.  To give you a perspective of that, if our sun were the size of a softball, then the star Antares would be the size of a house.  And the earth?  It would be much smaller than the size of a pea.

—The earth travels around the sun about eight times the speed of a bullet fired from a gun. And yet, we don’t fall off!

—If the Big Bang theory was true, then all the planets should rotate in the same direction on their axis, but what we actually see defies that.  Venus and Uranus both rotate 'backward' from the other planets. And just in case we might miss that, of more than 50 moons in our solar system, at least 11 of them rotate in the opposite direction.

—We have no idea how many galaxies there are.  So far as we can tell, there are more galaxies then there are grains of sand.

—And how many stars? One source (BBC) estimated that there are about 1,000 stars to every grain of sand on Earth. But that's just a guess.

—There are between 200 - 400 billion stars in our galaxy (The Milky Way).
